Tones & Colors CD Release @National Sawdust

Pianist Liza Stepanova, praised by The New York Times for her “thoughtful musicality” and “fleet-fingered panache,” celebrates the release of her new album, Tones & Colors (CAG Records), with this concert at National Sawdust. The album, recorded by acclaimed producer and National Sawdust Curator Adam Abeshouse, will be available at the concert on January 6 and at all major retailers on January 19.

Immigrant Voices @ Dancz Center for New Music

Inspired by her own journey and prompted by recent events, Russian-American pianist Liza Stepanova explores the music of composers who are working in the United States but hail from around the world. The program includes Southeastern U.S. premieres of “Tahirih the Pure” (2017) by the Iranian composer Badie Khaleghian and Venezuelan-American Reinaldo Moya’s “The Way North” (2017). Additional composers include Lera Auerbach, Anna Clyne, Chaya Czernowin, Gabriela Lena Frank, Kamran Ince, Eun Young Lee, and Pablo Ortiz.
